30.09.2020Prof. Mike Shanahan receives new SNF grant

Congratulations to Prof. Michael Shanahan who recently received a Notice of Award from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) for a grant (for 1.1 million Swiss francs). The project, entitled “Social status and the regulation of the genome: Longitudinal and cross-species studies," will examine how social status is related to gene expression over many years of life and also between humans and rhesus macaques. A preliminary paper with some of these data recently appeared in PNAS, and the project will also draw on z-proso data that were collected over the past 2 years.
